How to Order Custom Cosplay Boots — A Step-by-Step Guide
Ordering custom cosplay boots for the first time can feel daunting. How do you take measurements? How do you communicate the design? What if they don't look right? This guide walks through the entire process at NOIRTIDE — from first reference image to final delivery.
Step 1 — Find Your Reference Images
The clearest communication you can give a bootmaker is a reference image. Find screen grabs, production stills, or detailed cosplay reference photos of the specific boot you want. Multiple angles are ideal — front, side, and back. If you're building an original character rather than replicating an existing one, mood board images showing the aesthetic you're going for work just as well.
Step 2 — Choose Your Material
The two main choices are full-grain leather and suede. Full-grain leather is more durable, water-resistant when treated, and takes a high shine well — ideal for armoured or military characters. Suede has a softer, more organic appearance — ideal for Jedi, rangers, and fantasy characters.
Colour is fully customisable. Black, brown, tan, oxblood, white, and custom colours are all achievable.
Step 3 — Take Your Measurements
For ankle boots, you need: foot length (heel to longest toe), foot width at the widest point, and ankle circumference.
For knee-high boots, add: calf circumference at the widest point, and shaft height (floor to the top of the boot).
Measure in bare feet or thin socks, standing on a flat surface. If you're between sizes, go with the larger measurement — leather can be adjusted more easily when slightly loose than when tight.
Step 4 — Submit Your Custom Order
Use the NOIRTIDE Custom Order form to share your reference images, measurements, material preferences, and any specific design details. The more specific you are, the more accurate the result. Our team will confirm the design and timeline before beginning production.
Step 5 — Production and Delivery
NOIRTIDE boots are handcrafted in our Sialkot workshop. Standard production time is 2 to 3 weeks. Once complete, your boots are shipped worldwide — typically 4 to 7 days within Europe and 10 to 12 days internationally.
